Cartoon of William Christian Sellé in his familiar hat. If that date reads '1887', he was 74 years old. The caption reads "'Mus Doc' (a well-known figure)" and an annotator has added 'Dr Sellé' for those in whose era his renown is less marked.

A foggy scan of a twenty-year-old photocopy of a hundred-year-old newspaper cutting. Perhaps most interesting is the Germanisation of his forenames, a practice that seems to have begun late in Sellé's life; the accent on the final é/e comes and goes with a like whimsy.
